IN MANY ways health trends have never looked brighter. A 1998 report by the World Health Organization (WHO) says: "More people than ever before now have access to at least minimum health care, to safe water supplies and sanitation facilities." To be sure, much of the world's population still endures poor living conditions, but as the British Broadcasting Corporation reported, "poverty around the world has been reduced more in the last 50 years than in the previous 500 years."

Depression—How Does It Feel?
“I WOKE up one morning when I was 12 years old,” remembers James, “sat on the edge of my bed, and wondered, ‘Is today the day I die?’” James was in the grip of major depression. “Every day of my life,” says James 30 years later, “I have fought this emotional and mental illness.” James felt so worthless when he was young that he tore up his childhood photographs. “I didn’t even think that I was worth remembering,” he recalls.

Why Quit Smoking?_081210
SMOKING is not for those who want to live a long and happy life. The probability that a long-term smoker will eventually be killed by tobacco is 1 in 2. The director-general of the World Health Organization (WHO) stated: "A cigarette is . . . a cleverly crafted product that delivers just the right amount of nicotine to keep its user addicted for life before killing the person."
How To Quit Smoking_081210
LIKE learning to ride a bicycle, giving up tobacco is rarely accomplished the first time you try. So if you are determined to quit, you should be prepared to make repeated attempts until you are successful. Do not view a relapse as a defeat. Think of it as a learning experience, a small setback in what can be a successful program. Here are some suggestions that have worked for others. They may work well for you too.
Ayude A Alguien A Dejar De Fumar_081210
Help Some One To Quit Smoking_081210
If you are a nonsmoker who knows the dangers of smoking, you likely feel frustrated when your friends and loved ones continue to smoke. What can you do to help them quit? Nagging, begging, coercion, and ridicule seldom meet with success. Neither do condescending lectures. Instead of quitting, the smoker may reach for a cigarette to ease the emotional pain these tactics may cause. So try to understand how difficult it is to quit and that for some it is much harder than it is for others.
Ejercicio_081210
¿Necesita hacer ejercicio?
Dedique treinta minutos diarios a hacer ejercicio.

Do You Really Need to Exercise?
“Work out twice a week to stay in shape. Exercise 30 minutes a day. Avoid alcohol to prevent cancer. Drink alcohol to decrease your risk of heart disease. Do you ever feel overwhelmed with good advice? One day the headlines say one thing, and the next week something totally different. . . . Why can’t scientists agree? Why is coffee dangerous one week and harmless the next?”
—Barbara A. Brehm, Ed.D., professor of exercise and sport studies.

Imagine yourself working for something that you truly believe is going to make you happy and fulfill your life, you work on this thing for many years, maybe decades, just to find out at the end that this was not what really makes you happy. What a waste of time. How can we know what truly makes us happy before we even start to invest our time into it?
